STIOLTO RESPIMAT (tiotropium bromide and olodaterol) Inhalation Spray has been clinically proven to significantly increase lung function and help people with COPD breathe better—all day and all night.

STIOLTO RESPIMAT is a steroid-free, long-acting maintenance treatment that helps control COPD symptoms. It is inhaled in 2 puffs, 1 time each day. It’s a combination of two types of medicines: tiotropium, an anticholinergic, or long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), and olodaterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA). These two medicines help the muscles around the airways in your lungs stay relaxed to prevent COPD symptoms, such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.

STIOLTO RESPIMAT is not for sudden COPD symptoms. Always have a rescue inhaler. It is not for people with asthma, and should not be used by children or anyone who is allergic to any of the ingredients in STIOLTO RESPIMAT.

  • Cigarette smoke and smoking
  • Extreme hot or cold weather
  • Air pollution

Learn more about triggers

COPD is a disease that can get worse over time, which means that symptoms can turn into something called a flare-up or exacerbation. It’s important to know what can cause a flare-up and what you can do to help guard against them. STIOLTO RESPIMAT contains tiotropium, which has been shown to help significantly reduce the risk of flare-ups.

What can cause a flare-up?

Most flare-ups are caused by a lung infection like the common cold, so germs are a threat. Other causes, called triggers, can irritate your lungs and cause flare-ups. Here are some of the most common triggers that should be avoided:

  • Weather that is very hot, very cold, or very humid
  • Pollution outside from smog and ozone, or inside from tobacco smoke and wood-burning fires
  • Household cleaning products with bleach or ammonia
  • Allergies to dust, animals, or pets

Yes! Ask your doctor about ways to help you breathe more efficiently during the day. He or she can also recommend relaxation techniques to use when you’re short of breath.
